Chelsea Signed Silva

Chelsea FC has been making headlines all season with the crazy transfers being made. They landed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to better off their offense. However, they still need to be rebuilding the backline. They may have found a solution. Chelsea has signed long time PSG player, Thiago Silva, to help rebuild their back line.

According to ESPN, after eight years at PSG and being their captain, Silva did not receive a renewal on his contract. His season ended this summer, but he stayed to play with PSG into the Champions League final where they lost to Bayern Munich 1-0.

The Brazilian center back had gotten offers from Fiorentina but did not wish to return to Serie A. He did play for AC Milan, and maybe wanting to try a new league.

Lampard Wants Ter Stegen

Although Silva is 35, he feels like he can play in the top European Leagues for another three to four years. So, when Chelsea offered a two-year deal, he happily agreed. PSG boss, Thomas Tuchel, doesn’t want to see him leave. However, sporting director Leonardo didn’t seem interested in keeping him in Paris.

Most of the details have been sorted out, but he will be talking with Frank Lampard once he returns to Paris from Lisbon. With Silva on the team, he’ll be able to help build a new defensive line.

Lampard has seemingly been transforming the whole team by signing new players. The world had its eyes on Chelsea once news broke about Werner’s move, and again with Ziyech. It also looks like they are closing in on Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen. As well as a £50 million deal with Leicester for left-back Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea Aren’t Winners Yet

The newest offensive line with Werner, Ziyech, Havertz, Pulisic and Giroud is strong. While the backline with Chilwell and Silva will create a new standard of Chelsea defense.

Lucky for Chelsea, they also got away with paying a transfer fee for Silva. Let’s just hope it pans out for them.
